Class teachers play a pivotal role in providing care and nurture of children within a strong pastoral system. Teaching staff are adults to whom children go to for guidance and support, and pupils' personal and social development is further reinforced through PSHE lessons.

The close working partnership between parents and class teachers helps children to understand that there is a shared pastoral responsibility between home and school. Class teachers make themselves available to parents at the start and end of each day.

At Tugby, we also have a trained ELSA who is able to work with pupils.
