‘I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.' John 10:10

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Christian Distinctiveness

All staff and Governors work co-operatively with pupils and parents in a cohesive and mutually supportive environment, focusing strongly on Christian beliefs and values.  The Christian ethos of the school permeates all activities and strategies, providing an effective framework for the development of moral and spiritual awareness and understanding.  There are strong and supportive links with the Leicester Diocesan Board of Education, as well as the clergy and our local Anglican Parish Church.

Collective worship involves all members of our school sharing time together in quiet moments of reflection to celebrate life and to show reverence to God.  Daily prayers are invitational and everyone takes an active part in worship time; although parents do have the right to withdraw their child from participation should they choose to do so.

Spirituality

What is it?

Spirituality generates passion and intellectual debate, what it is has been debated for centuries and will be for centuries going forward, it’s unlikely we have the answer!

It is …

Found in all faiths

A way of giving meaning to life

Responding from your soul as opposed to your knowledge

Strongly linked to individual or group values

About how we see life and how we live life

A motivational force

About movement and change

Children’s spirituality needs nurturing, it can easily be crushed or left to lie dormant.
