At Tugby CofE Primary School, we believe that some of the best learning happens outdoors. Just a short walk from our school, we are incredibly fortunate to have access to a magnificent forest area that supports our exciting Forest School programme. We would like to say a huge thank you to our local neighbours for kindly allowing us to use this wonderful natural space.

Located near Uppingham and on the outskirts of Leicester, our school offers children the opportunity to explore, discover and learn in a safe outdoor environment that inspires curiosity and creativity.

Forest School gives our pupils the chance to enjoy hands-on experiences that are very different from classroom learning. From roasting marshmallows around the campfire to den building, nature exploration and teamwork activities, every session encourages confidence, independence and resilience while creating lasting memories.

Outdoor learning also helps children develop problem-solving skills, communication and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Whether they are exploring woodland habitats, working together on creative challenges or simply enjoying time outdoors, there is always plenty of fun to be had at Forest School.

Watch the video above to see our Forest School learning in action and discover why outdoor education is such an important part of life at Tugby CofE Primary School.
