Christianity and Faith at Tugby
Mission Statement
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” John 10:10.
In our school we want to follow the example Jesus. Through following His example, as Christians we are able to life our lives to the full.
We put our faith into action by helping others in our community and through supporting our brothers and sisters around the world.
Each child is trusted to use their unique abilities and this is shown through caring for one another.
The children said:
“Learn how to love like Jesus.
We love one another like Jesus loved us.
Love everyone not just yourself.
Listen to everyone and involve them in our community.
Don’t fall out, be nice to one another. Respect everyone.”
Our Christian Values
Our values are central to our identity as a school, they are centered around the
“Tugby Star”.
Our values have been defined by our School’s Christian Community Team.
Love: This is God’s most important gift. We need to show love to our neighbours the way that Jesus intended.
Respect: Treat others how you’d like to be treated yourself. Respect ourselves, each other, the school and the world we live in.
Truth: Never lie, always be honest even if it’s sometimes tough.
Hope: Never give up, if we trust in God, good things will come.
Trust: We are honest, so we can be trusted to do good things in our school and community.
Forgiveness: We forgive those who do bad against us.
Tugby’s Christian Community Team
At Tugby we actively encourage children to be involved and reflective in celebrating our Christian Spirit. Children are encouraged to participate in prayer and Collective Worship, Tugby’s Christian Community Team help deliver God’s message to our school.
Our RE Curriculum
We follow Leicestershire’s Locally agreed syllabus for learning. We have adapted it to suit the demands of our school and are using it to sequence children’s learning to create the best educational experience possible.
Collective Worship
At Tugby we believe with engaging with our local community as much as possible in sharing our Christian identity and values. We are delighted to supported in our Christian development by several local teams who visit the school regularly, ensuring we have a strong variety of collective worship at the school.
