‘I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.' John 10:10

Enabling children to flourish and succeed

Respect

One of our over-arching aims at school is to build a climate of mutual respect, care and acceptance based on distinctive Christian values.

The apostle Peter summarizes the Bible’s teaching on respect in his first Epistle: Show proper respect to everyone.

In order to have a greater understanding of different cultures and religions, classes make visits to places of worship as part of their SMSC and RE curriculum. In addition, special days are organised so that the whole school can be immersed in a particular culture, using the House system to allow different ages to share experiences with visiting speakers. Wesak day for example provides opportunities for children to learn about the Buddhist religion, mandala, food, music and meditation before a final shared assembly with a Shaolin monk.
