Prefects

We have a separate Year 6 class with a low teacher to pupil ratio (usually 1:12) in order that pupils receive individualised tutoring and maximum support during their final year, before transitioning to our senior school, Uppingham Community College. Year 6 pupils become Prefects at the start of the Year and are given Prefect badges to wear on their blazers as a mark of leadership. Prefects are expected to be responsible and learn how to be good leaders of the school; to be role models for the younger children and to set high standards in behaviour and courtesy.

During the year, Prefects take a leading part at major events such as the Easter service and Prizegiving, as well as representing the school at interviews and public events.

Lunch Time Clubs

This year the prefects have taken on the responsibility of running lunch time clubs, working with the younger children and planning fun activities for them. The year 6's are brilliant with the younger children ensuring they are happy, feel included and have plenty to do!
