As part of our pastoral support for children, we have a vertical House System that helps to develop respect, tolerance and friendships in different age groups, from Reception through to Year 6. There are four Houses, each with a different colour, to which every pupil is assigned. Each House has House Leaders (members of staff) and House Captains that are elected by the House from the oldest children.
The House system also helps to promote aspiration: every half-term there is a house trophy awarded to the House that has attained the greatest number of House points for 'Good work and Behaviour' and a separate trophy awarded to the House that gains the most points during the House Sporting tournament. All children take part in the House matches that usually take place on a Friday afternoon so that parents and friends are able to come and support the competition.
